If you happened to try to reach us last night and wondered where we were, we were stuck in a HUGE snowstorm about 200 yards from our house.
We went to dinner at Peter's parents' around 6:15, then came home at about 8:15 and there was waist-deep snow in the middle of our street. Luckily, Peter's brother, Tyler, came to get us and we got John and Lucie out of the car in the blizzard, left our car, and drove to Peter's parents' house to spend the night. Our courageous neighbor tried to come rescue us, but got his truck stuck and ended up walking almost a half of a mile in the dark and snow back to his house. What a good neighbor! (Incidentally, he was the doctor to deliver Lucie, so we really owe him.) Wow! Today we plowed all our cars out and the kids are resting nicely.

This photo was taken after Peter took his dad's tractor over to our house to get a few essentials like diapers. He said it was a little brisk outside! Thank you to John and Julie for housing the weary travelers last night!
#1 I love that all of you live close to each other. I am so jealous.
#2 Holy Driggs' snowstorm. Sometimes being coddled in Utah, I forget how it really is.
#3 How cool that in Idaho, most of our Dads happen to have a tractor and a gi-normous truck to get us out.
#4 No one in California would have that cool snowsuit. Even if they come to Utah or Idaho to ski.
Is that snowsuite Carhardt? Brad would be so jealous. Me, not so jealous!
Glad you are all OK - who knew dinner could be such an adventure!
Wow, who knew you could get into so much trouble so close to home. SO close yet so far away has new meaning... Looking good Peter!
Whoa!!! I love that you guys are so rugged! I also love that I haven't checked your blog in a while and I see you have been posting a lot and so now I have some fun stuff to read while I feed the little guy! Your family is so cute Sarah. I can't get over little Lucie and how gorgeous her EYES are!!! Oh I do hope that I see you guys again soon..
oh and ps I probably have comments to add to all your posts, but it's hard to type and nurse at the same time- you know how that goes!
Do you think they have these storms in Chicago? Ai yi yi! I don't know if I am ready to live in cold weather. I am glad that you are doing well. XO
