Where do I begin?  We just got back from our trip to our old homeland -- the bay area.  We love it there!  Just driving in, I could feel how I used to feel when we lived there.  Right away, Lucie's hair got more volume from the humidity.  It was so fun to see family and old friends, spend lots of time outside, eat out, and go shopping!
We stopped by the Colemans' (Peter's sister, Tiffany) near Sacramento on our way down.  John was in HEAVEN!  He loved playing with those boys, Ben in particular.  Ben introduced him to the world of nerf guns.  John was very impressed.  Here's our little gangsta in action.  He seriously couldn't stop laughing.

We got to spend a few nights with the Reeds (Peter's sister, Christy) and it was just like old times.  Lucie was introduced to ice cream.  She grabbed Peter's hand to help the process along.  She is definitely a McKellar!

It was great to get the kids outside.  John loved playing at the park, and in the Reeds' backyard.  He calls all their kids Calvin -- they have 4, Gabriel, Calvin, Vivian, and McKellar.

Lucie and John both loved the special attention they got from their cousin, Vivian.

But this is how the kids spent lots of hours.  I put some good miles on this double stroller at the mall and Target!

I'll have to let this next picture represent all the pictures I should have taken with my wonderful friends.  This is Trever, husband to my roommate of many years, Lindy.

I am so happy to have gotten to see the newest members of the Smoot family (what darling little twin boys!), eat lunch with Katie, eat lunch with another Katie, have frozen yogurt with Jane and Amy, read People magazine and chat with Heather, give Alecia (soon to be mother of twins) a big hug, get a pedicure with Patrice, have dinner with Carrie and Melissa, and chat with a few good friends in our old ward.  I wish I could have caught up with even more.

I consider my friends in CA extended family and will always have a special place in my heart for them.  Really, I miss them more than I can say.  What a wonderful time I had getting to see them!  I only wish I could have had more time.  But John asked everyday when we were going home. So today he skipped his way into the house and didn't stop dancing until he went to bed.  It's great to be home!
