What a great birthday I had this year!  Peter made me a delicious breakfast and dinner, and even surprised me with a picnic for lunch.  And Aunt Mary was out visiting, which made the day even better.


Most people who know me know how much I love my birthday!  All birthdays, really, but especially mine.  I just love hearing from so many people I care about.  The red velvet cake this year was an added bonus -- thank you, Aunt Mary!

On Labor Day, we drove over to Jackson Lake Lodge for a delicious lunch.  The kids were so well behaved!  There is an amazing view there.

Meanwhile, Lucie got to walk around until her food arrived.  She really is very happy, despite her suspicious look in all her pictures.

After lunch, we drove to Jenny Lake and took the ferry across the lake.  The kids loved it!

Lately, John has been a little more lenient with Lucie -- he actually lets her touch him every now and then.  The other night, the unthinkable happened!  He gave her a pony ride.  We aren't sure how it happened.  But I caught them playing together in his bedroom today.  There is hope!!

Thanks so much to everyone for the nice birthday wishes.  I felt so loved -- I have so many things to be thankful for!
