Happy Birthday, John!

John turned the big 0-3 on Wednesday the 14th.  We celebrated all week long, as is customary in my family.  John seemed to accept the tradition openly!
Thanks to Peter's sister, Wendy, for this photo.  She was so nice to have us over on Tuesday night and watched the kids a bit for us.  We had a delicious dinner and celebrated John's big day with an airplane cake.

Madeleine was a huge help with Lucie.

John got so many nice gifts from family and friends.  We let him open them all week long so he's really been able to enjoy each one, and it's nice for mom when he's occupied!  His big gift from us was a new Harley.  I'm sure Peter feels slighted because John got one before he did, but this one has 3 wheels and can only be ridden up in the playroom.  So it's a bit safer than the other kind!

John's favorite thing about the Harley is that it plays music.  He likes to dance!  We'll encourage him to play sports, too, just so we're nice and well rounded...

Lucie quickly made herself comfortable, too, as a Harley chick.

In other news, Lucie switched to John's forward facing car seat, and John got a new booster.  You see who is in charge of the booster.

In still other news, we came back from Texas (nice, warm, Texas) to this!!  At the beginning of October.  I was none too pleased.  I'm just not ready.  Luckily it melted and today is really pretty and sunny.

But I have had to switch Lucie from her sundresses to this...

I had to throw this picture in.  The other day Lucie got a hold of the 3 hole punch and dumped out all the little circles of paper.  She was literally occupied for almost an hour trying to carefully pick up each one.  I know what Santa's bringing this year!
