I Love Our House

I took quite a lot of effort to build, but I love it!
We built a playroom for the kids above the garage -- the "bonus" room.  It's been so great!  John and I painted a car bank my Aunt Chris sent him for Christmas -- in the playroom.  It's such a fun room for the kids to run in during the winter especially.

The treadmill is in one of the window bays of the playroom -- with the most beautiful view of the Teton mountain peaks.  On Saturday, I was feeling the beat of the music Laurie (my sister in law) sent me to exercise to as I looked at that amazing view.  I couldn't help but think, "This is the life!"  Would I like to be walk/running the Stanford dish in Palo Alto, yes very much!  (I doubt I could even make it up the first hill with a double jogger if I'm being truthful.)  But I love where we live.

While at the grocery store, I have several times vowed never to drive this beast of a cart!  It's covered in a not-so-thin layer of I'm not sure what, and it's impossible to steer through the aisles.  However, as you can see, I have given in.  The kids love it!  They know they get chocolate milk and to drive the "car" when we go to the store.  It makes shopping a fun event for them, and even me!  I get an ab workout while grocery shopping trying to steer that thing.

Lucie's latest craze is to demand wearing her coat at all times, and most of the time this little backpack my Dad got John a few years ago.  She's ready for kindergarden a little early!

I love this rocking chair Peter's mom gave us when John was born -- it was given to her by her mother when her babies were small.  I love to sing to Lucie (I sound really good when no one else but her is listening!) and think that Julie sang to her kids in the same chair.  What a treasure!  We only hope someone in our family is born with genes to be able to carry a tune!
