Christmas Day

I'm finally posting photos from our Christmas Day.  We had a wonderful day.

The kids still don't get out of bed until 7:30, so we had a relatively late start.  They came downstairs and the first thing they opened were their stockings from Santa.  It was just a LifeSaver candy book, but that was all Lucie needed to make her Christmas merry and bright!

The sunrise over the Tetons was so beautiful.  The whole day was so clear and sunny.

Peter's mom and dad came over for a big Christmas breakfast.  We had our favorite Bananas Foster Waffles.  It had been 2 years for Peter's parents, so we were all ready.

Can you tell from my face that was the first breakfast I'd made in a month or 2?  I admit, Christmas would have been much better for me if I'd felt good, but I made a valiant effort to enjoy the day despite feeling crummy.  And I did really enjoy it, including my afternoon nap.

My mom (aka Grandbobbie) got the kids a new slide to put in the playroom.  They LOVE it.  Lucie was worn out from a lot of sliding in the picture above.

New shoes from Nanie...  A big hit!

Julie (Meme) got John (Big Dad) a new iPad for Christmas.  Lucie wasn't sure if he knew exactly what it was, so she helped out.

Peter was more than happy to discuss all the wonderful features of the iPad.  John was happy to give Big Dad a demo.

We had Christmas dinner with just our little family -- ham, potatoes, etc.  It was really nice.  No pictures (it's possible I was in my pajamas by that point...).

For Christmas Eve, we went over to Peter's brother's house -- Tyler and Stephanie's.  It was such a fun night.  The kids reenacted the nativity.  I'll have to get that picture from Stephanie.  It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

For New Year's Eve, we had Peter's family over to have our annual ping pong tournament in the basement after a really fun sleigh ride.  I'll have to post pictures of that next...

Happy New Year!
